Check In Procedures:
To check in, please make an appointment with Martha Espinosa in HR Scholar Services. Foreign Nationals must first make an appointment with International Scholar Services before making an appointment with HR. Once you have checked in with HR, please come see Jen Shechet (geology, geobiology, geochemistry), Nora Oshima (environmental science and engineering), Ulrika Terrones (planetary science), or Kim Baker-Gatchalian (geophysics) for a room key, building access, and safety overview. A campus map can be found here.
If you would like to apply for Caltech postdoc housing, you can find more information here as well more general information on the International Offices website. For any housing related questions, please contact [email protected]
All postdoctoral scholars are eligible to enroll in Caltech benefits programs. In general, Caltech health insurance, as well as other benefits, will begin on the first day of the month following your date of hire. (If you start working on February 1, your Caltech coverage begins February 1. If you start working on February 15, your Caltech coverage begins March 1).
The Benefit Rates reflects the current cost of health insurance to Caltech scholars who are eligible for the Institute subsidy. Caltech makes the same plans available to scholars who are not eligible for the Institute subsidy. The Summary of Caltech Benefits includes detailed information about the health and welfare benefits available to Caltech postdocs, staff, and faculty.
