Geology in GPS

Our educational and research programs in geology bring a range of field, remote sensing, and laboratory-based approaches to understanding tectonic, petrologic, climatic, surficial, and paleontological processes and the history of the Earth and its regions. In pursuit of field areas that preserve rich records of key geological events and processes, we can take advantage of the range of natural environments around us in Southern California or travel anywhere around the globe. We collaborate with the other options in the Division to develop new interdisciplinary tools for understanding the Earth.
