Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

In 2016, the Presidential Postdoctoral Fellows program was established with the aim of providing support for an inclusive postdoctoral community at Caltech. Fellows receive stipends, mentoring and services that build community and foster professional development.

The Caltech Presidential Postdoctoral Fellows program builds and expands on the highly successful California Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP). This program was a partnership between Caltech, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Stanford University.

Fellows will receive up to $96,000 in funding (up to $47,500 in year 1 and $48,500 in year 2). Please note that funding includes institute benefit charges. The remainder of their funding is to be supplied by some combination of advisor support and/or external fellowships.

The PPFP supports 12 fellows on campus, with approximately 6 appointments made each year. Applications will be reviewed twice a year; the 2026 deadlines are:
