Research interests are in seismology and tectonophysics, using large regional earthquake data sets to study seismicity, earthquake source processes, statistical seismology, and image crustal structure. Research interests also include determining the state of stress in the crust and the style of faulting from seismicity, as well as seismotectonic synthesis. Also includes research in real-time seismology such as development of instrumentation, implementation of latest seismological algorithms, and software for real-time earthquake monitoring, rapid notification, waveform analysis, earthquake early warning, and hazards mitigation.
