At present my research is focused on various aspects of computational real-time seismology as well as data mining the 80 years of archived Southern California Seismic Network data. In particular, the waveform relocated earthquake catalog can now be analyzed in the context of other data sets such as heat flow, GPS shear strain rates, and distances to the nearest late Quaternary fault. Dr. Wenzheng Yang and I seek to resolve both spatial and temporal features of the stress field in the southern California crust. I am also working with Dr. Maren Boese and Dr. Tom Heaton on earthquake early warning research and development. The ShakeAlert processing thread is now delivering earthquake early warnings to collaborative users.
