About me

I am a 4th-year graduate student in Geological and Planetary Sciences at Caltech (Since Summer-2006). I am interesting in Active tectonics, Earthquake Geology and Quaternary Geology.

Recently, my main project is working on the active tectonics in the Southeast Asia, especially the earthquake geology in the Myanmar (Burma) area

I am also interesting in the earthquake activities and the nature hazard around Taiwan. I had working with Prof. Yue-Gau Chen, Prof. Bruce Shyu, Yu-Nung Nina Lin and many other friends on the active structures in Taiwan in the past several years. My main study area is the Northern and Eastern Taiwan. In the northern Taiwan, I focused on the active folding in the Taoyuan-Hukou Tablelands, and the inversion structures near the Hsin-Chu area. In the Eastern Taiwan, I worked with Bruce Shyu and other friends near the Tai-Dung city. Our main propose is to figure out the active deformations that are affected by the major converage fualt system.

The major techniques that I use in the active structures study are the Geomorphology mapping, the Structural profile and the Quaternary geochronology. Those techniques could give us information about where are the active structures, how do they active and when did they start to active.
