Research
I have two very broad areas of interest. I am interested in modeling large scale crustal and upper mantle dynamics in plate boundary zones. I am currently working on a proposition with Prof. Mark Simons, trying to understand and model subduction zone deformation and earthquake generation. I am also interesed in mantle convection and core-mantle interactions. I am working with Prof. David Stevenson on a second proposition, trying to understand the mechanisms by which liquid Fe from the outer core might be entrained into the lower mantle at the Core-Mantle Boundary (CMB).
