| Personal Information |
I am Ali Ozgun Konca. Currently, I am a staff researcher working at Caltech Seismo Lab.I got my PhD in Geophysics from Caltech in March 2008. I had my primary, secondary and high school education in Izmit, Turkey. Afterwards, I lived in Istanbul and studied physics at Koc University. After I had my BS majoring in physics at Koc University, I came to California Institute of Technology to study geophysics. I am a graduate student at Geological and Planetary Sciences. |
| Currently, I am working with Don Helmberger and
Jean-Philippe Avouac on
detailed earthquake rupture characteristics. Our study focuses on using
multiple datasets (seismic and geodetic) to study large earthquakes. We
utilize strong motion, to body waves, and surface waves and normal modes,
as well as surface offsets, GPS and InSAR measurements of coseismic
slip.
My interests include earthquake physics, long term and short term behavior of faults, strong-motion seismology, geodesy, inversion methods. |
