Welcome to Lydia DiCaprio's Webpage

I am a third year PhD student in Geophysics (School of Geosceinces) at the University of Sydney. I am currently conducting part of my research in the division of Geological and Planetary Sciences at the California Insitute of Technology in Pasadena, CA.

My research integrates plate tectonics with models of mantle convection. I am particularly interested in the applicability of my models to geological and geophysical observations. Observations of mantle derived topography encompases other earth science specialities such as paleogeography & eustasty, sedimentary geology and subduction zone processes.

Back from Korea with photos and a loss of apetite.
I am super excited to fix these regional models, and explore the subduction volume history idea Dietmar and I came up with.
We had some very inspired ideas over coffee and in trains.
And I thought all the best stuff happened over beer!
