Course Description -

This course is being offered in Spring 2012. The class involves a 3 day field trip to localities in the Mojave Desert of California.

Each student is expected to read background material prior to the field trip (see link to the References on the left side panel) and prepare a presentation (including handouts) to give on the trip. Each student will be given a set of topographic maps for the region of the field trip. These are to be used for you to mark regional geological features such as major faults, field trip route, and field trip stops.

The field trip dates are May 4 to 6.


Units: 3. Auditing not permitted.

Prerequisites: Introductory geology (at a minimum, Ge11ab or Ge101).

Course Grading

Pass/Fail.

Reading Group Class Time

Mondays, 2-3 p.m. on the Salvatori Terrace.
