Lauren Edgar
I am a fourth year graduate student in Geology. I study Mars through physical sedimentology, stratigraphy and geomorphology. My research involves ground-based observations from the Mars Exploration Rovers, orbital data from HiRISE, and the use of terrestrial field analogs to understand bedforms and sediment transport on Mars. I'm interested in past surface processes on Mars, using the sedimentary rock record to interpret past climate regimes and potential habitability.

Before arriving at Caltech, I studied Earth Sciences modified with Engineering at Dartmouth College. In addition to research I enjoy hiking and traveling, and I'm a member of the Graduate Student Council at Caltech.
