New
Technology
Inventions can really make the world a better place. Those that are
focused on addressing social problems can do even better. Engineers
for a Sustainable World has brought many new ideas to Caltech ranging
from cheap, effective solutions to water quality to off-grid power networks.
Currently, the One Laptop Per Child Program has piqued
my interest
because it has been so well-planned and has the potential to improve the
social condition of many in a very short period of time. I look forward to
working with this project on a volunteer basis.
Besides
that, here are some products that I’m pretty sure don’t
exist but might
be useful:
·
Sports drink mix/water
mixer for CamelBaks.
·
Running shoes with
retractable spikes (for snow and ice).
·
Inexpensive home monitoring
network of electricity power consumption.
