Running
Of all of the sports in existence, strangely I am actually competitive in
running. For other
sports which require coordination or other performance prowess outside of brute
work, I
was not picked first on the elementary school playground. Nevertheless, running is an activity
that I find to be enjoyable and the culture of hard-work and self-application
are quite appealing.
I have been running competitively for approximately 13 years now. Since freshman year in high
school, running has been essentially a daily activity and I hope to continue
and achieve some
lofty goals which I have set for myself but which I have unfortunately found
quite difficult to achieve.
The primary goal that I have had for four years now is to qualify for the men’s
U.S. Olympic Trials in
the marathon which requires one to complete 26.2 miles in 2:22:00 or less. This is not
attainable given my current training regimen, so the ante needs to be upped.
On this page, you will find a description of the races for which I am training
and a training log
peppered with random observations that are wont to occur over the course of the
easy, the
hard, and the so-so workouts.
Additionally, I have posted results from the competitions I have
entered. Again, feel free to provide
feedback on my training strategy through email (feldman
at caltech dot edu).
