My curriculum vitae

Education

I received my B.S. in Engineering Physics from Cornell University in 2001. I am now a Ph.D. student in geophysics at Caltech in the division of Geological and Planetary Sciences. Mark Simons is my adviser.

Research

My current research projects are:

  • Investigating earthquake clustering on a single fault due to stress recycling in the viscoelastic layers of the crust and mantle lithosphere: We are using a 2.5-D out of plane finite element model for this study.
  • Post-rifting deformation in the Northern Volcanic Zone of Iceland: A rifting episode took place on the Krafla fissure swarm in 1975-1985. GPS and InSAR data show a strong post-rifting deformation cycle. By using finite element modeling we hope to understand the processes in the northern Icelandic lithosphere that control the post-rifting signal.
