Steven M. Chemtob

Ph.D. candidate, geochemistry, Caltech

My name is Steve Chemtob, and I'm a graduate student in geochemistry at Caltech. Broadly, I study the properties of alteration minerals through their interaction with electromagnetic radiation, from X-rays through the infrared. I am particularly interested in the spectroscopic and geochemical study of coatings, and how these minerals record the interaction between rocks and their environment on Earth and on Mars.
