3D rupture dynamics with the spectral element method (SEM)
[Sept. 2003] I have implemented a 3D earthquake dynamics module in the SPECFEM3D code of Dimitri Komatitsch and J.Tromp (f90/MPI).
Work supported by the SCEC collaborative project for 3D Rupture Dynamics Code Validation.

[Aug. 2005] Horizontal slip rates for the SCEC tests (resolution dx=100m) are shown below. See also the SCEC benchmark IT site.
