The division is housed in four buildings: Arms (building 25 on the campus map), Linde + Robinson (building 24), North Mudd (building 23), and South Mudd (building 21).

Prospective undergraduate students are encouraged to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to arrange tours, information sessions, and class visits.

Interested community members are encouraged to contact the Visitors Center for tours and information.

Directions

From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Travel east on Century Boulevard to the San Diego Freeway (405). Go north on the 405 to the Santa Monica Freeway (10). Proceed east on the 10 to the Harbor/Pasadena Freeway (110). Go north on the 110 until it ends at Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena. Continue north on Arroyo Parkway to California Blvd. Turn right (east) on California and proceed to Caltech, approximately 1 mile.

LAX is also served by public transportation and various shuttles. Optionally, you may wish to take the airport bus to the Pasadana Hilton, the Doubletree, or the Pasadena Holiday Inn. Then, take a taxi for the short ride from the hotel to the campus.


From Burbank Airport

Follow the signs leaving the airport to the Golden State Freeway (5). Proceed south on the 5 to the Ventura Freeway (134). Go east on the 134 until it merges with the Foothill Freeway (210). Continue east on the 210 to the Hill Avenue exit. Travel south (right) on Hill Avenue until you reach the campus.


From Ontario Airport

Follow the signs leaving the airport to the San Bernardino Freeway (10). Go west (towards Los Angeles) on the 10 to the 57 Freeway. Proceed north on the 57 until it joins the Foothill Freeway (210) and start traveling west on the 210 to the Hill Avenue exit in Pasadena. Travel south (left) on Hill Avenue until you reach the campus.


From Downtown and Central Los Angeles

Proceed north on the Harbor/Pasadena Freeway (110) until it ends at Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena. Continue north on Arroyo Parkway to California Boulevard. Turn right (east) on California and proceed to Caltech, approximately 1 mile.


From the West San Fernando Valley, Ventura County and Points West

Go east on the Ventura Freeway (101). Remain on the Ventura Freeway as its designation changes from the 101 to the 134. Continue traveling east on the 134 until it merges with the Foothill Freeway (210). Continue east on the 210 to the Hill Avenue exit. Travel south (right) on Hill Avenue until you reach the campus.


From the East San Fernando Valley

Take either the Golden State Freeway (5) or the Hollywood Freeway (170) south to the Ventura Freeway (134). Travel east on the 134 until it merges with the Foothill Freeway (210). Continue east on the 210 to the Hill Avenue exit. Travel south (right) on Hill Avenue until you reach the campus.


From the Santa Clarita Valley and Points North

Take the Golden State Freeway (5) south to the Foothill Freeway (210). Proceed east on the 210 to the Hill Avenue exit in Pasadena. Travel south (right) on Hill Avenue until you reach the campus.


From the Westside (West LA, Santa Monica)

Proceed east on the Santa Monica Freeway (10) to the Harbor/Pasadena Freeway (110). Go north on the 110 until it ends at Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena. Continue north on Arroyo Parkway to California Boulevard. Turn right (east) on California and proceed to Caltech, approximately 1 mile.


From the South Bay (Torrance, Palos Verdes, Long Beach)

Take the Harbor/Pasadena Freeway (110) north until it ends at Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena. Continue north on Arroyo Parkway to California Boulevard. Turn right (east) on California and proceed to Caltech, approximately 1 mile.


From Orange County and Points South

Proceed north on the Santa Ana Freeway (5) to the Harbor/Pasadena Freeway (110). Take the 110 north until it ends at Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena. Continue north on Arroyo Parkway to California Boulevard. Turn right (east) on California and proceed to Caltech, approximately 1 mile.


From the San Gabriel Valley and Points East

Take the San Bernardino Freeway (10) west to the Harbor/Pasadena Freeway (110). Proceed north on the 110 until it ends at Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena. Continue north on Arroyo Parkway to California Boulevard. Turn right (east) on California and proceed to Caltech, approximately 1 mile.

Or travel west on the 210 to the Hill Avenue exit in Pasadena. Travel south (left) on Hill Avenue until you reach the campus on your right.
