Announcements of Student Awards

The Division had three recipients for this year's NASA Earth and Space Science (NESSF) fellowship program, in the field of Planetary Science Research.  A total of 22 fellowships were awarded nationally in this field.  For more information please see here.

Joannah Metz was awarded for her oral presentation, entitled "A complete Depositional System in Melas Chasma, Mars"  it was ranked #1 in the AAPG Student Oral Awards Competition.

Yu-nung (Nina) Lin has been named a 2009 AAPG Foundation Grants-in-Aid recipient. She has been awarded the Alexanader and Geraldine Wanek Named Grant. This Named Grant is provided by an endowment established through the AAPG Foundation by generous contributions from Alexanader and Geraldine Wanek.
