Research Interests
Research in my laboratory involves both the development and application of new molecular and microanalytical stable isotope-based methodologies to characterize specific links between uncultured microorganisms and their activities in the environment. We use a combination of geochemical and metagenomic approaches to understand the metabolic and ecological relationships of sediment-hosted marine microorganisms involved in methane, sulfur, and nitrogen cycling in extreme environments with emphasis on the deep-sea.
