Research
My research centers around noble gas geochemistry and its applications to a range of Earth Science problems: Rare gas composition of terrestrial materials; chemical evolution of the Earth's mantle and atmosphere; petrogenesis of oceanic lavas; low temperature thermochronometry; geologic record of interplanetary dust flux, methods and nuclear physics of cosmogenic surface exposure dating. Below I describe my laboratory facilities and several of the projects we are currently pursuing.
- Caltech Noble Gas Lab
- Cooling Histories from Helium Thermochronometry
- Cosmic Dust in Seafloor Sediments
- Isotope Geochemistry of Ocean Island and Mid-Ocean Ridge Basalts
- New Techniques for surface Exposure Dating
